圓盤飛剪是由成對的圓盤刀片組成,這種飛剪一般用在小型車間,將它安裝在冷床前對長軋件進行粗剪,使進入冷床的軋件不致太長。或者將它安裝在精軋機組前對軋件進行切頭,以保證精軋機組的軋制過程順利進行。
圓盤式飛剪所以能橫向剪切運動著的軋件,主要是由于刀盤軸線與軋件運動方向傾斜一定角度,并且使圓盤刀片圓周速度在軋件運動方向上的分速度與軋件運動速度相等。軋件進入和離開圓盤刀片是通過誘導板實現的。圓盤式飛剪的缺點是剪切斷面是傾斜的,但對于切頭或在冷床前粗剪軋件影響不大。由于這種飛剪工作可靠,結構簡單,并可應于軋制速度達10米/秒以上的場合,因而在小型車間得到了較廣泛的應用。這種飛剪除了采用連續工作制外,也可采用啟動工作制。
